Health, Day 11: Day Off

It was Saturday, which is my day off the week to do whatever I want.

10:30 AM:  I rolled out of bed after a bit of sleeping in and hit up a couple of sausage breakfast burritos.

***At this point in the morning, I did one truly healthy thing and went to work out.  Ran on the treadmill for 35 minutes.

1 PM, Lunch:  I subsequently undid much of the calorie-burning on the treadmill by hitting up a delicious Chipotle burrito for lunch.  Rice + black beans + steak + mild/corn salsa + cheese.  God, rice.  How I miss you in my daily routine.

7 PM, dinner:  Stone and Biff and I watched the Jayhawks whip the shit out of K-State.  During this time, I enjoyed a few pieces of pizza, about 6 Bud Lights, and a shot of Jameson.

Health, Day 10: Snowpocalypse Winds Down

Breakfast, 9 AM:  Scrambled eggs + salmon croquette + VitaminWater Zero.  Power was STlILL out in our apartment.  More breakfast from the deli in my office was the result.  I didn't know what a salmon croquette was - basically, it's the equivalent of a crab cake with salmon instead of crab.  It was good, and salmon is supposedly pretty good for you.  So there's that.

Lunch, 12 PM:  Chipotle burrito bol + Diet Coke, as per usual.

Dinner, 8 PM:  I met up with a few friends from Georgetown for dinner and drinks at Zikrayet.  Dinner consisted of lamb kebob, a cheese roll, and some pita with hummus.  I also drank four Almazas, which were just okay.  Turns out that largely Muslim countries brew mediocre beer.

Healthy, Day 10: Suffering Through Snowpocalypse

9 AM, Breakfast:  Scrambled eggs + sausage link.  We woke up in the morning with the power still out at our apartment.  This made it fairly difficult to cook anything, especially with no lights to see what was going on.  As a result, I hit up the deli in my office for some breakfast.

12 PM, Lunch:  French dip sandwich + fries + Diet Coke.  Since there were 10 inches of snow on the ground, turnout at my office was somewhat poor.  As a result, I went out for lunch with a few of my co-workers.  Social standing in the office would probably suffer if I was known as "that weird kid who takes pictures of his lunch," so I opted to stick to a mental picture for this one.

8:30 PM, dinner:  Cheeseburger + fries + 2 Bell's Amber Ales.  The power was still out in the Manor.  This did not please me and Stone.  We went to the Boulevard Wood Grill and had some burgers and cold ones to soothe this pain.

***I also worked out this day as well.  I ran on the treadmill for 30 minutes.

Health, Day 9: Snowpocalypse Begins

Breakfast, 8 AM:  Egg white omelet (mushrooms + cheese) & whole grain English muffin with reduced sugar grape jam.  I FINALLY got an omelet to turn out well.  This was pleasing.  I also liked the English muffin - I picked up some reduced sugar jam, since normally that shit is pure sugar, which doesn't work so well if you're hypoglycemic like me.

Lunch, 12 PM:  Chipotle burrito bol and a Diet Coke...like most other days.  I had to eat lunch in the middle of a business meeting, which seemed like an inappropriate time to take a picture.

6 PM, happy hour:  3 small chocolate chip cookies +  3 Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPAs.  It started snowing like crazy around 3 PM.  Although most Wednesdays would have us heading to the Galaxy Hut, I accepted an offer of Alison's baking in exchange for them hosting happy hour.  Hiking through huge mounds of snow made me feel justified in having a couple cookies.

Amac also enjoyed some cold ones and cookies, both in greater amounts than me.  This boded well for our eventual race.

9 PM, Dinner:  Kung pao chicken + white rice.  I got a call from Stone indicating that the power was out at Dude Manor.  This meant that heading home to cook dinner was probably not an option, so I ordered Chinese with Amac and Alison.

***This Wednesday was a big first in terms of actually returning to the gym after a great number of weeks away.  I ran on the treadmill for 25 minutes.
